Pumpkin Pickin'

We've made just a few trips to the pumpkin patch this year, three to be exact! This is such a wonderful time of year, we are soaking up being in the midst of football season and enjoying the cooler fall air that has finally made its way down south.

The first trip of the season we took a few weeks ago with my dear friend Danielle ("Deeee!" to Will), and Holly and her family. (Hunter was being boring and at the office working on a Saturday. Boo.) We went to the same place we visited last year, Old Baker Farms in Harpersville. Although the weather was very H-O-T that afternoon, we made the most of it and enjoyed our afternoon there.

And even though Will and Lily look scared out of their minds, they really did enjoy the hayride to the pumpkin patch.

And Will even greeted his cousin with a kiss when he saw her. :)

Caroline was so sweet to help Will pick out his pumpkin.

But then he got quickly frustrated because he couldn't figure out how to pick it up by himself. He worked and worked on picking up those pumpkins!

Side note: When did he turn into a little boy?

We were so glad that Holly and her sweet family were able to join us too. The girls had so much fun!

Sweet Danielle took Will to see the "baby cows," and he was obsessed.

Trip number 2 to the pumpkin patch was actually with Will's class. They took the train in Helena to the pumpkin patch, although we didn't actually get to get out into the fields because of the rainy weather. But we still had a blast, and he loved the train ride. I mean loved it. He was so brave standing by those rails, and it made me a nervous wreck. (Don't worry, I had my hands on him at all times, other than snapping these few pictures.)

I don't know why he was acting scared to death of his pumpkin. I assure you, he wasn't!

They packed the kids a snack lunch, and of course all he ate was his cheetos. That's the first time he's had those to my knowledge, and he did not leave a single one behind.

The third and final trip was to a privately owned farm stand on the side of the road close to our house. I'm going to be honest and go ahead and admit that I was totally that obnoxious mom that stopped by just so we could get a few pictures. But, we did make a few purchases, so I felt like it was totally acceptable. :)

The following look is one of our most common facial expressions and accompanying questions these days, "Where ____ go?" I think he was asking where his daddy was at that particular moment.

And then he quickly got distracted by the cars driving by.

And then the owners had a little dog that kept coming back to where we were and barking, and Will was showing us his bossy side and saying "No no, Agey!" (He thinks every dog is our Sage, and we haven't quite gotten down the correct pronunciation just yet.)

We just love this time of year, and are trying to soak up every moment before it's gone!
