The local weather stations began preparing our area for "extreme winter weather" and "record snow fall" probably middle of the week last week. Being from the south, this type of threat always instigates an extreme level of excitement (not to mention starting our own version of "The Amazing Race" to pick up the ultimate combinatin of milk and bread). Well, although we still had our scepticism, they were actually right on the money with this one. Sunday evening, we looked outside around 9 o'clock after seeing all these pictures from downtown Atlanta posted on facebook. What did we see? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Seriously? So we watched a little more TV, and decided to look again around 10 before we headed to bed. And much to our surprise, this is what we saw:
Crazy! That accumulated in literally an hour. That is insane, especially for Georgia. They issued a "code white" for our hospital before we went to bed that night, which is our lingo for "snow day." Monday morning we woke up and saw this:
No need for back talk right now, Sage.
Sage's mommy and daddy were nice enough to even let her inside with all the snow and ice, which is a huge treat for her.
So although it is fun (for like, a day) to get some ligitimate snow down South, I think we are both a little ready to be able to just do something outside of our home. Last night they issued another "code white" until 7pm on Tuesday. Pro: another snow day for both of us today = a little more sleep in the morning, "working from home" while we are sitting on the couch in front of the fire place, laptop in front of our face, with a warm cup of coffee in hand, and more importantly, a little extra time for this:
More on this later!
