Memorial Day Weekend Wrap Up

For Memorial Day weekend, we had a low key, stay at home kind of weekend. I was on call and had to work on Monday, so we needed to stay within the vicinity of Birmingham for the weekend.

Saturday, the sweet ladies in Hunter's family took me to lunch at Olexa's in Mountain Brook for an early birthday celebration. It was so yummy! They have the BEST salads and some pretty awesome cake that is always served at the perfect warm and gooey temperature.

When we got finished eating, we did a little window shopping.

And then we walked down to an antique shop where Mrs. Shepherd sells some of her pieces.

Once we were inside, it didn't take Caroline very long to find her favorite chair. She is obsessed with it!

The next day, we attempted to go to a swimming pool, but it was RI-diculously packed to the brim. So we decided to take advantage of a state park that is within a few miles of our house, and we were glad we did. There is so much to do out there, but we couldn't resist cooling off in the water since we were basically melting from the insane heat.

Once we were back home, we had some more play time with Sagey in the back yard before Hunter got to work on the grill.

We finished dinner off with some banana pudding that Sage enjoyed almost as much as we did. One of Hunter's favorite games with Sage is to put food on top of her nose so she has to work to get it. Because we're mature like that.

No worries, she wasn't harmed in the application of banana pudding to her nose.

But this is how Sage felt about it.

Good times.

And of course this goes without saying, but we are forever grateful for these guys, who even allow us to have our daily freedoms...like spending time with family, going to the lake on a lazy afternoon, and doing silly things with our dog.
