4th of July 2013

We had a low key 4th of July this year and stayed home. I actually went in to work that morning, and then we had a fun cook out with Hunter's family that evening.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Shepherd dinner party if we didn't have an appearance from a pretty princess.

 

We attempted to get a picture of the three grandkids together, and as always, it was chaos. :)

We had some silly, wound up kids that afternoon, that's for sure! But we surely wouldn't have it any other way. There is absolutely nothing sweeter than the sound of those giggles and squeals.

 

And then we had a grand finale by sweet Caroline, a very special interpretive dance with her flag.

 

She danced up and down and all around her Nonnie's garden with her special flag. She is at the cutest age right now, in the midst of pretend play, dreaming of princesses and fairytales, and using any opportunity to dance. She is so, so sweet!

We hope you had as wonderful as a 4th of July as we did! We certainly enjoyed our freedoms brought to us by centuries of brave men and women that paved the way for us before our time.
