Pumpkin Pickin'

A few weeks ago, we headed to a local farm to kick off this wonderful fall season and pick out some pumpkins.

We went to a local farm just outside of Birmingham, and it was so nice. We will definitely be heading back for years to come, and I know that as Will gets older, he'll be able to enjoy more and more of their amenities. They had food stands, a petting zoo inside of an old barn, and a cotton gin, among lots of other things that I know he'll love in a few years.

They take you on a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out your own pumpkin, and Will loved that part! Most of it anyway. About halfway through, they do a little mini skit where "bad guys" jump out of the woods and fire blanks into the air, and poor Mr. Will, the gunfire just scared him half to death. But other than that brief scare, he loved the hay ride!

The pumpkin patch was HUGE, and a little overwhelming if you are trying to balance a 20 lb + child, a diaper bag, and the pumpkins that you picked. But it took us no time to find our pumpkins, and Mr. Will found one that was perfect for him as well!

We had a fun morning as a family, and we can't wait to go back next year!
